“I am sometimes asked 'Why do you spend so much of your time and money talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?' I answer: 'I am working at the roots.'”—George T.Angell

Little Rascals Rescue is a foster based 501c3 non profit animal rescue founded on the belief that a few caring people can make a difference in many animals lives.  In Maricopa county alone 900 animals are euthanized a week.  That number is way too high and through the effort of rescue groups like ourselves we believe we can make an impact on the lives of the many animals being euthanized daily.   We live by the mantra 1 adopted and 2 saved,  meaning every time someone adopts an animal from us we go pick up another off the euthanasia list, so thats 2 lives you save by adopting one animal. Our group is dedicated to saving the animals other rescue groups just can't save, mainly the medical and behavioral cases.  That doesn't mean we won't have plenty of highly adoptable animals as well.

Take a look at this handsome big boy!  This is our boy Connor!  He came to us after his family lost their home and had to move into an apartment – he is definitely NOT an apartment dog so sadly they had to give him up.  Poor Connor is sad to have lost his family but we know he’ll find a great new family to give all his love to.  Connor is housebroken, great in the car and awesome on a leash – which is a very good thing because with his size if he decided to go one direction when the person walking him wants to go another, he would win J  He is a big boy but with all the stress lately he’s lost some weight but will gain it all back once he’s settled.  He is great with other dogs but not super playful – his favorite thing is to lean his big body against you, pin you to a spot where you HAVE to pet him – he loves to be touched.  He is good with children but because of his size older children are recommended.  Connor is also a very polite boy and does great in a house.  He knows basic commands and listens very well.  Take a look at those sweet eyes – you can even see all the love he has to give.  If you are interested in Connor, please do some research on this giant breed BEFORE you fill out an application.  Know that he will shed, AND slobber all year around.  Because he has a long coat, regular brushing is very important.  Also, he will eat more than an average large dog so consider the expense of his regular upkeep.  Having said all that, this awesome boy is worth every penny and a complete joy to have around!  For more information on Connor please call Toni at            602-686-4158 or email azbullygirl@q.com

The only way rescues survive is through donations or grants through the public or corporate world.  Money is always a great way to help, but we also always need food, treats, chewys, toys, litter, towels, washcloths, blankets, pillows, bowls, leashes, sheets, kmr or goatmilk powder, and anything that would benefit the well being of the dogs and cats in their stay with us.  If you want to help in a big way sponsor a donation drive in the community for the items listed.  Every little bit helps and is graciously appreciated.

A very special dog named Rudy

Rudy is a sweet 2 year old samoyed with only 2 legs!  He was pulled from the euthanasia list at county where he was turned in as a stray.  We first thought that Rudy had a birth defect, but after meeting his new friend Dr. Soderstrom, a veterinary specialist, we now are thinking quite differently.  After viewing xrays, Dr. Soderstrom believes that Rudy  had to chew his own legs off!  He might have been hit by a car, or something that gave him such extreme pain and discomfort that he would result to doing this to himself.  We think that Rudy has been living on his own with this condition for awhile.  He has even learned to get around by walking in a handstand on his 2 remaining front feet.  Rudy is such an amazing kid with so much love to give.  He loves everything big and small including all of his kitty and doggy friends.  He has so much happiness in him and wants so much to just be loved back!  His foster parents Jen and Ryan who also own the rescue have decided to keep him. He loves all the other animals in the house and loves going out to adoption events and stealing all the attention. With Jen being a surgical veterinary technician her husband and her will be able to continue helping him with all his future needs.
